The Evangelical Church of Saint John the Baptist is located in the center of Świętochłowice at Katowicka Street. The church was funded by Prince Donnersmarck in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, who donated land for the construction and expressed his desire that the shrine was to face the building of the Directorate of the Donnersmarck's Mines and Steelworks. Like many contemporary Silesian churches, both Lutheran and Catholic, it was built in the neo-Gothic style.
